Before sunrise from the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge that spans Lady Bird Lake (also known as Town Lake to old-timers), the Austin skyline climbed into the frigid December air. The morning light seemed to change the colors of the high-rise windows as the minutes passed, transitioning from a dark blue to magenta to their more familiar silver and blue.
