Big Bend in Black and White

Big Bend National Park is one of the crown jewels of Texas. The park encompasses 800,000 acres, and the Rio Grande serves as the border to Mexico for 118 miles. This gallery attempts to show the remote and rugged park in black and white, and it features landscapes from iconic locations such as:

- Santa Elena Canyon

- Emory Peak

- the Lost Mine Trail

- the South Rim

- the Window overlook

- Balanced Rock

and several other favorite places.

Just west of Big Bend sits Texas' largest state park - Big Bend Ranch State Park - that covers over 300,000 square acres of beautiful, unforgiving, terrain perfect for exploring (just not on summer afternoons).

I hope you enjoy this collection of black and white photos from these amazing parks.
