Tuff Canyon, Big Bend NP
Big Bend National Park
On the western slope of the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park, Tuff Canyon has slowly been cut into the rock by floods and erosion. This area of the Chihuahuan Desert makes a good place for hiking and exploring, but watch out for rainstorms high in the Chisos that can result in flash flooding. This little area also can produce nice wildflower displays, especially bluebonnets, when the weather has been wet during the winter and spring. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
