The Solitario from Fresno Canyon 106-1
Fresno Canyon and the Solitario, Big Bend Ranch
The early morning trek in Big Bend Ranch started in the dark with rain falling. However, after the three hour trip of driving and hiking, I found myself at the edge of Fresno Canyon. I had arrived while it was still dark, and really had no idea how the morning would turn out. I only knew that a misstep would lead my down a precipitous cliff. Slowly, the clouds began to break up, and orange light crept beneath the lingering clouds. With the world awakening below me, the sky seemed to catch fire and spread across the heavens. The Solitario, a rock uplift in front of me, appeared almost as if it was a volcano. The morning was beautiful. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
