Svartifoss in Skaftafell National Park 2
Skaftafell National Park, Iceland
As one of the icons of Skaftafell National Park, Svartifoss is a waterfall that most visitors want to see. Surrounded by dark lava basalt columns, the water falls about 20 meters (about 65 feet). In sunshine a rainbow often forms in the mist at the base of the falls. The hike to this site is about 1.5 miles each way and passes by two other waterfalls. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
