Saint Cyril and Methodius Church 3 - Dubina
Not far from La Grange is the famous “Blue Church” of Dubina - Saint Cyril and Methodius Cathlolic Church. Vibrant frescoes and a blue ceiling adorned with oak leaves, vines, and even golden stars give life to this working parish. The interior of this European style small church is ornate and stunning.
The unincorporated community of Dubina in Fayette County was first settled in 1856 by Czech immigrants. Today, the population is a whopping 44 citizens, but the church still serves its people with one of the most beautiful of Texas’ painted churches. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
