Kirkjufell under the Midnight Sun 2
Near the small village of Grundarfjörður in west Iceland, the famous Kirkjufell Mountain rises into the midnight summer sky on the shores of the North Atlantic. Known as Church Mountain, this peak has served as an icon for a thousand years. Rising 463 meters above the sea, it was formed between two glaciers and helped shape the mountain we see today. Kirkjufell Mountain is also the most photographed mountain in Iceland. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
