Hundafoss, Skaftafell National Park, Iceland 1
Skaftafell National Park, Iceland
About a mile into the Svartifoss Trail in Skaftafell National Park in southern Iceland, Hundafoss plunges about 82 feet. The name comes from "hundar." In Icelandic, "hundar" means dog, or dog falls. In the past, when the river swelled and the falls roared, local dogs often got swept away and washed over the cliff! Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
