Ernst Tinaja 1 - Big Bend National Park
Big Bend National Park
Near the Rio Grande Village in Big Bend National Park, a trail leads to this rock formation, along with the Ernst Tinaja, a rock pool formed from the erosion over millions of years. You don't want to slip down. The limestone is too slick to escape its steep walls. Over the years, hikers have found animals including javalinas, coyotes, and even a mountain lion, that have stopped for a drink of water, fallen in, and were unable to get out.
