Clouds over the Guadalupe Mountains 3
Salt Basin, Guadalupe Mountains National Park
This lenticular cloud that formed over the Guadalupe Mountains on an afternoon in March was serendipitous moment. I had driven around to the Salt Basin Dunes of this remote Texas national park, and for an hour I watched this cloud - even stopped to photograph it from the road. But as luck would have it, this formation lingered long enough for me to walk to the dunes from the trailhead capture the rare moment as it hovered over the mountains like a mothership from another world. Ironic because we were heading to Roswell, New Mexico, the next day! Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
