Bluebonnets under the Milky Way at Big Bend 1
Big Bend National Park
In the very early hours of the morning, the air was calm and the magnificient Milky Way drifted across Big Bend National Park. Below, in the dry Chihuahuan Desert, a small patch of bluebonnets waited for morning and warmer temperatures.
This image is a composite of two different exposures. First the Milky Way was captured using a star tracker that enabled a long exposure of the night sky. After that, as a bit more light was filtering in, the foreground with bluebonnets was captured so that more definition would appear in the final version that you see here.
