Bluebonnet Sunset in the Texas Hill Country 413-1
The Road Less Traveled
On a quiet dirt road in the less-traveled reaches of the Texas Hill Country, a field of bluebonnets sprinkeled with white prickly poppies enjoys the last light of day. As the sun vanishes over the horizon, a sunburst spreads across the blue landscape.
I enjoy quiet evenings like this - not another soul around for miles and miles.
It gets harder and harder each spring to find the untouched areas full of bluebonnets. I hadn’t found an open field like this in several years - one void of flattened areas where folks have sat on the bluebonnets.
The only sounds to be heard were the calls of wild turkey and the mooing of distant cows. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
