A Beautiful Drive in West Iceland
The highway Útnesvegur in West Iceland wraps around Mt. Stapafell and the Snæfellsnes peninsula. The drive has many curves, rises, and falls, and makes for a beautiful way to spend a day. In this photo, the town of Arnarstapi (Stapi) is just down the winding road. A small fishing village sits at the base of Mt. Stapafel. The snow-capped volcano in the distance is the famous Snæfellsjökull (where Jules Verne started his journey to the center of the Earth!). Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
