The Alamo Before Sunrise 2
In the hour before sunrise, this photograph shows the sacred grass lawn and the Alamo lit with light. The grassy area is said to be an ancient Indian burial ground and also serves as a reminder for those Texans killed in the Battle of the Alamo. On the second floor of the building, you can see the tombstones, shadows created by the upward facing floodlights. A guard (real) stands as a sentry 24 hours a day (on the far left).
