Big Bend and the Pot of Gold

Big Bend National Park

I left the Chisos Mountains and headed towards Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park. Earlier, sleet had pounded the ground at the higher elevations. As I drove west, I noticed a rainbow forming over the peaks while the storm clouds were still brewing in the distance. I pulled over and quickly reeled of a few photographs from both this vantage point and from the neaby ridge. As quickly as it formed, the colors were starting fade. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
